Cecilia is an actress and Cantopop singer from Hong Kong who is famous almost as much for her personal life as she is for her professional success. Cecilia Cheung’s career in film and TV began in 1998 and she has had both major and lead roles in a number of major movies since then.

Background & Personal Life
Cecilia Cheung’s father is Hong Kong Chinese and involved in Hong Kong’s triad and her mother is Eurasion, half Hong Kong Chinese and half British. Cecilia’s parents divorced when she was young and she moved to Australia when she was 14 to live with her aunt. Cecilia’s family is a little complicated with an elder half sister, two younger brothers and a younger half brother.

She graduated from RMIT Holmes College in Australia then moved back to Hong Kong and began her career in acting and entertainment in 1998. Her personal life is colourful and Cecilia has been linked to Jordan Chan, Siyuan Lu, Daniel Chan and Edison Chen. Cecilia was one of the victims of the photo scandal where explicit photos of Cecilia and several other female stars with Edison Chen were made public.

She dated Nicholas Tse in 2002 and later reunited with him and they married in married Nicholas Tse 2006. They had their first son in 2007, their second son in 2010 and divorced in 2011. Their marriage was said to have ended on bad terms and arrangements for joint custody of their children were made.

Acting Career
Cecilia Cheung’s acting career started in 1998 after the Hong Kong comedy film star Stephen Chow spotted her in a lemon tea commercial. Stephen starred Cecilia in his next film “King of Comedy” in 1999. She also released her first Cantopop album named “Any Weather” in 1999.

Her next movie was “Fly Me to Polaris” in 1999 where she earned an awared for best newcomer. She also won and award for best actress for her acting in the romantic drama “Lost in Time” in 2003.
