Story
Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame is basically a whodunit movie with a lot of martial arts set in ancient China’s Tang Dynasty. The empress of China is due to be coroneted but her officials are mysteriously spontaneously combusting and leaving nothing but ash and a few bones as remains. In desperation after losing her seventh official to the murderous flames, the empress in desperation frees detective Dee from jail for help.
Using detective skills that rival Sherlock Holmes, psychic abilities and superb martial arts, Dee sets out on the trail of the killer.
