Part of this acceptance involved proving his Kung Fu by fighting their best masters. After some incredible table top fighting, Ip Man is accepted and begins a friendship with Chow.
At the time the movie was set, Hong Kong was under British rule and the British boxing competition and introduce their main fighter, the racist psychotic Taylor Milos. Both Hung and Ip Man are drawn into the competition.
