Rene Liu is one of the most famous Taiwanese actresses to successfully make the transition from the Taiwanese entertainment industry into major roles in the mainland Chinese film and TV industry. Though most well known for her acting, she is also a successful singer and has released a number of hit albums.

Acting & Singing Career
Rene Liu left Taiwan after completing middle school to study classical music at California State University in the US. After returning back to Taiwan at the completion of her studies, Rene was signed up by Taiwan Rock. The career took off in 1995 when she released her first Chinese album and started acting.
Her singing career was not a success immediately but she quickly achieved fame after her first lead role in the movie Xiao Yu” and she won a best actress award for the same movie. Since then Rene has gone onto act in hit TV series and movies and won several other awards. Her music career did not do well until 1998 with the release of her fourth album “Love you more and more”.
Rene is still acting and singing and has also diversified into song composition, writing books and writing movie manuscripts.
