Editor’s Review of The Top Bet – Score 6/10
The Top Bet was a continuation of Stephen Chow’s hit movie All for the Winner and continues tries to imitate the success of Stephen Chow, Andy Lau and Chow Yun-fats earlier hit gambling movies. Anita Mui, Ng Man-tat and Carol Cheng put on good performances but they lack the on screen charisma of Chow Yun-fat or the charm of Stephen Chow. Even though The Top Bet does not compare to the earlier gambling epics, it is still enjoyable to watch with one very enjoyable fighting scene.
