Editor’s Review of Little Big Soldier – Score 8/10
Little Big Soldier is an enjoyable movie to watch and one of Jacky Chan’s best recent movies. The historical perspective on the warring states period is very interesting and Jacky Chan’s acting as a bitter old soldier who is tired of war and just wants to go back to farming is has more depth and complexity than you’d expect of him.

The over all acting in Little Big Soldier is very good and each character is unique and well rounded. The story is involved with a decent level of complexity and subtle humour in place of the normal slapstick you’d expect. Over all Little Big soldier is a well rounded movie with good acting, enjoyable characters and a story what will keep your attention and entertaining. In the style of Jacky Chan's older films, filming bloopers and shown with the closing credits which is a nice touch.

His family is unexpectedly massacred and Hao is forced to take refuge with the monks. As the civil unrest spreads and the commoners suffer, Hao and the Shaolin masters must make a stand against the cruel warlords. They start on an audacious plan of rescue and escape.

Editor's Review  of Shaolin
The back stabbing and betrayal make an excellent story and the filming of the movie in the actual Shaolin Temple creates an excellent atmosphere. Andy Lau is cool and suave as always with a excellent supporting cast that includes Jacky Chan as the cook who can't fight. The only real weakness is the ending which is over dramatized and unrealistic. The bombing of the Shaolin Monastery and colorful explosions is a highlight of the film.
