Editor’s Review of Kung Fu Hustle – 8/10
After Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle is Stephen Chow’s all time best movie. It is a kung fu epic with an excellent balance of deadpan dry humour, violence and kung fu. The acting by the stars of the movie, Chow, Yuen Qiu and Yuen Wa is brilliant and the support cast such as Lam Chi-chung and Bruce Leung are as equally good. Overall Kung Fu hustle is one of the best comedy action movies to come out of Hong Kong with wicked satire and an extremely enjoyable 90 minutes of entertainment.

A showdown is unavoidable so Tiger and Turbo seek help with their injuries, improve their kung fu and prepare for battle with Shibumi. A battle they are unlikely to survive without Dragon’s help.

Editor’s Review of Dragon Tiger Gate – 6/10
Donnie Yen and Nicholas Tse are both charismatic actors and the fighting scenes are well choreographed and enjoyable to watch. The movie’s drawback is that many of the scenes are overly surreal and the story way too insubstantial and confused. The movie tries to blend a triad theme with an evil kung fu master theme where the bad guy hides in his evil lair and the result is a mess.

Editor’s Review of Sorry Baby – Score 6/10
This movie has several very dry and humorous segments but tends to be flat and bland with a weak and uninspired. Ge You puts on a very ordinary performance that is matched by Jacklyn Wu. Fu Biao is good but he cannot save the movie from mediocrity alone.
