Story
Qiu Jin was a woman ahead of her times who championed women’s rights for education, equality and to be free of customs such as foot binding. Her struggle for better treatment of women gradually involved her in the revolution against the corrupt Qing Dynasty and eventually led to her death by execution in 1907.
The movie is a lavish spectacular that chronicles the last days of her life with flashbacks to her youth, her refusal to have her feet bound, her education in Japan and her marriage where she rebelled against the traditional of a humble and subordinate wife.
