Daqi returns to Shanghai, marries Bao and becomes the toughest triad boss in Shanghai, even surpassing his master Shouting. When the Japanese invade China and threaten Shanghai, Daqi is drawn into the conflict.

Editor’s Review of The Last Tycoon – 7/10
Many of the action scenes in The Last Tycoon are reminiscent of Chow Yun-fat’s early movies with heroic gun battles where he and Huang Xiaoming as his younger self mow down hordes of bad guys. Sammo Hung is flat and lifeless as a triad boss but the over all quality of acting is good and Huang Xiaoming is excellent as the younger Daqi. Interestingly Chow Yun-fat’s Mandarin was not up to the job so he was dubbed.

Editor’s Review of The Lion Roars 2 – 4/10
The best single word to describe this movie is boring. Cecilia Cheung puts on a decent performance but the story is lame, the action sequences unrealistic and unconvincing, the pace monotonous, the script flat and the characterization almost non existent. Watching this movie without falling asleep is a struggle.

At the Inn he meets a bunch of strange characters such as the house maid Linda who always snoops through guests belongings and Inn proprietor who is her father and pretends his other daughter who is dead is actually alive.

Editor’s Review of The Bounty – 3/10
The Bounty has a decent cast and a story with potential but the movie has no direction, no depth, ridiculous characters and pointless dialogue. The Bounty is a movie that could have been good but is boring and meaningless. It is meant to be a comedy but has no humour or gags. There are a number of fight scenes but Chapman To can’t fight which is obvious and the fights don’t fit in with the story or theme. The Bounty is a movie that if you watch on DVD, you’ll fast forward to the end and if you watched it at the cinema, your wasting your money.

The situation is further complicated by Sheriff who believes the counterfeiting case is solved and is trying to shut down the Divine Constabulary. Department six is also harbouring a double agent Ji Yaohua who really works for An Shigeng with her crew of beautiful side kicks. To cap this off, Lingqi and Emotionless are in love and Lingqi is sharing Divine Constabulary secrets with Sheriff.

Editor’s Review of The Four – 7/10
The start of the movie is confusing because none of the characters are introduced and the first scene is a stake out that goes wrong and turns into a free for all with all the main parties in the movie involved. With a bit of patience you can piece together the main characters and factions involved as order develops out of chaos. Each of the four constables has their own style of fighting, special abilities cum super powers and personalities that are woven into the story

The Four is a little light on plot development and depth which is to be expected because the movie is based on popular kung fu novels from the 70’s. Over all enjoyable and fun to watch the constables use their powers and special moves to mow down the bad guys and take down the super baddie.

Editor's Review of The Silent War – 7/10
The Silent War is set during a harsh period in China’s modern history and the movie is fairly grim. Zhou Xun is brilliant as the seductive spy and Tony Leung Chiu Wai is also very good as the blind piano repairer. For fans who are using to Tony being the sword/gun waving hero, The Silent War will be even more grim. The story is good and shows a very interesting part of China’s history, the cast are excellent with Wang Xue Bing making one of his rare movie appearances and the movie is well worth watching. Just don’t expect a lot of romance or cheerful endings.
